Copeland Borough Council consists of 51 Councillors and meets monthly in accordance with the timetable available at the Council Offices.
The Council's role is to determine the policies and programmes to be followed for the services for which it is responsible, and to supervise the administration of these policies.
To do this the Council establishes a number of Committees which meet at regular intervals to consider the various issues and problems affecting the Council's responsibilities, and also to ensure that the decisions and policies made are carried out efficiently.
