Accessibility
Copeland Borough Council strives to meet the needs of computer
users with visual impairment or other conditions that limit
accessibility. Due to graphics-intensive nature of this part of the
site, this geographic information cannot all be presented in an
accessible format. If you would like assistance with this please
contact info@copelandbc.gov.uk.
By using our online mapping service you are agreeing to the
following conditions:
- The online mapping service is designed to provide members of
the public with access to Copeland Borough Councils map based data.
This is a Geographic Information Systems (GIS) for map-based data
presentation of property-related information.
It is important to note that property boundaries shown on the
mapping and data in Maps do not relate to legal land ownership
boundaries; land ownership queries should be referred to HM
Land
Registry.

Council retains copyright to all original data unless otherwise
stated.

Technical Issues
The online mapping service is designed to be used with Microsoft
Internet Explorer version 4.0 and Netscape version 4.0 and above.
It has been tested and found to work with Firefox, but this testing
was not exhaustive. The online mapping service should work
effectively with Internet connection speeds from 56kbps dial up to
Broadband.
The online mapping service uses pop up windows, for example to
display text information resulting from an Info click at any point
on the map in a specific Theme. To view these pop up windows you
will need to ensure that you have switched off any 'anti pop up'
software you have set up on your PC; if the pop up windows cannot
be viewed the online mapping service will not show details as
required.
If there is no map displayed in the map area in the online
mapping service you may need to download free Java Runtime
Environment software to be able to view the maps.
