West Cumbria is already one of the safest places in the country to live, work and visit. We are committed to making it even safer. The Crime and Disorder Act 1998 requires that the Local Responsible Authorities in the district form a partnership which will conduct a full audit and produce, implement and monitor a three year strategy for reducing drug misuse, crime, disorder and fear of crime in the area.

Allerdale and Copeland Borough Councils, together with all of the partners, have joined forces to create the West Cumbria Crime and Disorder Reduction Partnership.

Your Community Safety Co-ordinator

The role of the Co-ordinator is to support the overall activities of the Crime and Disorder Reduction Partnership and participate in the development of the strategy and falling from that it's action plans, also to raise awareness of the responsibilities of the Local Authorities under Section 17 of the Crime and Disorder Act 1998.
