Within Copeland, responsibility for transport is split between the County Council, the Police and Copeland Council. The County Council as the Highway Authority, has primary responsibility for areas such as local bus services, roads and traffic management.

We deal with areas such as public car parks, concessionary fares and new building developments.

We work in conjunction with the County Council and other local districts on different projects. Copeland Borough Council's Waste Management Department is responsible for keeping the streets clean and tidy.
