New powers under the Clean Neighbourhood and Environment Act
2005 are available to help remove cars that are left either on the
roadsi
de or present a
possible danger or nuisance to the local area. (If you have found
an abandoned car/vehicle, please report it by completing the
Abandoned Vehicle form at the bottom of this page)
The owner will be traced and they will be issued with a Fixed
Penalty Notice of £200 (or you can choose to go to court) as well
as having to pay removal costs of £105, £12 for storage per 24
hours, or part thereof, and £50 if the car is destroyed.

in end of life vehicles. Please check the Yellow Pages website for your local
dealer.
My Car has been taken away what do I need to do?
If your car has been taken away, or you have received a letter
about your car from us as reported abandoned, please complete the
online general enquiry form. If you fail
to claim your car within 7 days, it will be destroyed so please
contact us urgently if your car has been collected. If you have
been issued with a Fixed Penalty Notice,

Reporting an Abandoned Vehicle
To report an abandoned vehicle, please complete the form below
and post to the address provided on the form. Please make sure that
you provide as much information as possible about the vehicle, what
we need are:
- Location of the vehicle
- Length of time that the complainant has noticed the
vehicle
- Vehicle colour
- Vehicle make
- Vehicle model
- Vehicle registration number
- Tax disc date (if possible)
- General condition of the car (good - drivable - poor -
damaged)
Also, if damaged we would like to know the number of tyres that
are flat/blown, windows broken and any other significant
damage.
