This followed assessment of submissions from interested parties on the Modifications published on 6th April 2006 with the Council resolving not to make any further modifications. The adopted plan forms part of the development plan for the area of Copeland Borough outside the Lake District National Park. The Development Plan forms the basis of decisions on land use planning affecting that area.</p> <p>Copies of the documents which make up the adopted plan are available for inspection at the following during normal office hours:</p> <ul> <li>The Copeland Centre, Catherine Street, Whitehaven, Cumbria CA28 7SJ</li> <li>The Millom Council Centre, St. Georges Road, Millom, Cumbria LA18 4DD </li> </ul> <ul> <li>View the <a href="Copeland-Local-Plan-2001-2016.htm" title="Copeland Local Plan 2001 - 2016">Copeland Local Plan 2001-2016</a> documents which make up the Adopted Plan. </li> </ul> <h3>Local Development Framework</h3> <p>The Planning and Compulsory Purchase Act 2004 introduces many changes to the planning regime operating in England and Wales Most of these in the first instance will affect the Development Plan-making process  the work which in Copeland has previously been delivered under the  Local Plans banner, will be replaced by the  Local Development Framework .
