Next Stage for Beacon Bistro
The Beacon is entering the next stage in creating its fantastic new harbourside restaurant.
All interested restaurant operators are being invited to visit The Beacon on Monday 15 January, view the site and plans for the new bistro, and collect a copy of the Restaurant Feasibility report.
Representatives from Copeland Borough Council will be on hand to answer any queries and talk through the opportunities. Anyone interested should contact The Beacon on 01946 592302 to book your confidential appointment. Deadline for bookings is Wednesday 10 January.
The contract to run this distinctive dining location will be offered by Copeland Borough Council to an experienced restaurant operator and substantial alterations are taking place to transform the ground floor of The Beacon into an exclusive venue.
Beacon Manager, Sue Palmer said that
“These are really exciting times. By the Maritime Festival in June, the new restaurant will be open in a stunning conservatory-style extension, enabling up to 70 people to enjoy good food and terrific views onto Whitehaven Harbour.
The layout plans are virtually complete and the builders are due to start on site in January. Now we want to work with the successful restaurant operator to finalise the plans according to their needs and add the finishing touches”.
The Beacon redevelopment is being funded by the European Community European Regional Development Fund, the Heritage Lottery Fund, West Lakes Renaissance, Copeland Borough Council, the West Cumbria Development Fund and British Nuclear Group.
